"Earlier this year Bruce and I sat in a Hollywood studio where some of the biggest records of the '60s were made and recorded guitars for the song “American Summer.”
We wanted a bright, Petty-meets-Townshend vibe to match the “driving the California coast” sound of the song. Bruce’s guitars are all over - A hi-strung acoustic starts the song, his Gibson “Elvis Dove” acoustic, and plenty of electrics - a cherry SG with p90s and a Les Paul Jr on the rhythms. We were all smiles leaving the studio and proud to have the song available for FREE download on andrewlondonmusic.com.
