A different ransfer,
which is not the same as the 2001 KISS “Box set” version,
appeared on Gene Simmons "The
Vault box set (disk 11 track 10)".
There are multiple sources available for this recording,
certainly 2 different acetates and
Gene Simmons 1970 12 song Publishing Reel.
The "The
Vault box set" version sounds identical to the B-side of the (1969 Richcraft Recording Company) 10” acetate “Stanley The Parrot”.
Track 16 : "Against The Grain" written on an acoustic
guitar.
Track 17 : "My Uncle Is A Raft"
appeared on Gene Simmons "The

It's
one of the first songs Gene Simmons wrote, when he was just
learning to play chords on the guitar. The song was recorded at
Larry Martinelli’s Brooklyn Basement, with Gene Simmons on
acoustic guitar with his school friends Mark Nyberg on drums and
Larry Martinelli on electric guitar.

Anna Dalva (guitar and vocals) **
BULLFROG BHEER late 1968 :

BULLFROG BHEER summer 1970 : *
Gene Simmons (vocals and rhythm guitar !)
John Slaver (bass ! and vocals)
Marty McMahon (lead guitar)
David Scheinberg (drums)
* According to Marty McMahon, John Slaver, Marty McMahon and
David Scheinberg are the musicians on the famous "Leeta" and
"Stanley The Parrot". The versions that are on the acetates and
Kiss box set. Piano player on "Leeta" is Bill Daily (last name
might be spelled differently). Not Brooke Ostrander as some have
speculated.
(Thanks to Ole Sørensen (of
KISS
Bands Tree)
for additional details.
** Late 1967 / early 1968 Anna Dalva (guitar / vocals) was in the
first line-up of BULLFROG BHEER, together with Gene Simmons
(bass / vocals) and drummer Stan Singer. At the time Anna was
only 16 years old, while Gene Simmons was a teacher in upstate
New York.
Bullfrog Bheer had rehearsals at Anna Dalva’s parents garage.
Together with Gene Simmons, Anna Dalva wrote "Movin' On" and a
heavy Rock song entitled "Stay".
According to Anna Dalva, Gene slept on her couch for about a
year and called his mom every night to talk to her in Hebrew.
Anna’s mom didn’t allow her to tour with the band. Soon after
Anna was replaced by Steve Coronel late 1968. Later on Anna
Dalva wrote for Motown.
"Movin' On" is performed live by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley
pre-KISS band
RAINBOW (1971).
The song also appeared on a
WICKED LESTER (August 7, 1971) reel to
reel tape.
By surprise,
Gene Simmons played me "Movin' On" during my private Vault
Experience in Amsterdam, July 22, 2018. (see video below - "Movin'
On" starts around 4:20)
