November 2009 : MySpace Stream of the Month REVOLVER
original songwriter Tostrup re records "Asshole" in Norwegian

From: Frank Albin Tostrup to Kiss Related Recordings (by email)

In 2004 I let Gene Simmons use my song "Asshole".
As everybody now knows, it ended up as the title track on his 2004 solo album by the same name. This was originally a track that my former band Shirleys Temple released on EMI Music back in 2001.

My new band -REVOLVER- has now recorded a new version of "Asshole", this time with Norwegian lyrics. It's now called "Perler For Svin", and is out in Norway on MTG Music.
This because I have always liked the song and feel that it deserves a new chance, and it really works much better in Norwegian.
Revolver will release a full studio album in the spring.
It is produced by Revolver and Robert Hauge, and Trond Holter (Dream Police, Wig Wam) will mix the album. Revolver has also signed with TNT-drummer Morten 'Diesel' Dahl's booking agency Rcokpartner Entertainment/Norway Rock Agency, who wil take care of all booking and concerts for the band.

November 25 : Bruce Kulick European release of “BK3” on Frontiers
From: Frontiers Records
Frontiers Records proudly announces the signing of Bruce Kulick for the European release of “BK3” - his third solo album - on January 29th 2010.

Kulick, who first gained notoriety as a member of Meat Loaf's “Bat Out Of Hell” touring band, may be best known for his twelve years (1984-1996) as lead guitarist of KISS, during which time he appeared on nine gold, two platinum and one multi-platinum KISS albums. It is, however, the wealth of experience he has gained in his 13 post-KISS years that shines through on “BK3”.

The album takes listeners for quite a ride over its twelve songs... from the frenetic and anger-fuelled "Fate" (co-written by Kevin Churko, known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne), to the philosophical and uplifting "Life". Never one to mind sharing the spotlight with other talented musicians, Kulick invited several guest artists to appear on “BK3”, including Gene Simmons of KISS on the anthemic "Ain't Gonna Die", Doug Fieger (lead vocalist of The Knack) on the soon-to-be pop classic "Dirty Girl", Tobias Sammett (Edguy, Avantasia) and Eric Singer (KISS) on the fierce "I'm The Animal", Nick Simmons (son of Gene) on "Hand of the King", former Union cohort John Corabi on the moody "No Friend Of Mine" and guitar legend Steve Lukather (Toto) on the exciting instrumental "Between The Lines."

In the works for nearly six years and produced by Jeremy Rubolino, “BK3” delivers explosive hard rock arrangements and addictive pop melodies that honors both Kulick's singular past and bright future. "Many albums lack cohesion with different vocalists, but I know that my guitar playing is the glue on BK3," Kulick says. "There was the clear goal of making absolutely the best record that I could put together. I feel like this is my Revenge."

“BK3” includes the following tracks:
1. Fate
2. Ain't Gonna Die (featuring Gene Simmons)
3. No Friend Of Mine (featuring John Corabi)
4. Hand of the King (featuring Nick Simmons)
5. I'll Survive
6. Dirty Girl (featuring Doug Fieger)
7. Final Mile
8. I'm The Animal (featuring Tobias Sammet & Eric Singer)
9. And I Know
10. Between The Lines (featuring Steve Lukather)
11. Life
12. Skydome (from Bruce Kulick's “AudioDog” / Exclusive Bonus Track for Europe)

November 19 : Bruce Kulick's "BK3" release dates announced
From: kulick.net
If you ever play Six Degrees of Bruce Kulick, the former KISS/current Grand Funk Railroad guitarist's résumé will keep you happily busy for hours. Having been tapped by artists as diverse as Meat Loaf and Kanye West, the veteran axeman's boundless creative energy permeates his third solo LP, BK3. In the works for nearly six years and produced by Jeremy Rubolino, BK3 delivers explosive hard rock arrangements and addictive pop melodies that honor both Kulick's singular past and bright future.
And then there's the jaw-dropping guest list, boasting members of KISS, the Knack, Toto, Mötley Crüe and more.

After getting his solo feet wet with 2001's "AudioDog" and 2003's "Transformer", Kulick - the often unheralded driving force on 12 years of classic KISS records, from 1984's Animalize to 1992's Revenge - assembled his own rock 'n' roll dream team. The roster: KISS icon Gene Simmons and up-and-coming son Nick (each vocally appearing separately), longtime friend John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, Kulick's own Union), Knack mainman Doug Fieger, Toto axe authoritarian Steve Lukather, Edguy power metal stalwart Tobias Sammet and even current KISS drummer Eric Singer.

"Many albums lack cohesion with different vocalists, but I know that my guitar playing is the glue on BK3," Kulick says. "There was the clear goal of making absolutely the best record that I could put together. I feel like this is my Revenge."

BK3 will be released February 16th on Twenty 4 Records/Rocket Science Ventures.
Bruce Kulick's forthcoming album BK3 will be released in Europe via Frontiers Records

November 10 : KEEL "The Right To Rock: 25th Anniversary Edition"
From: www.keelband.com

Frontiers Records will release "The Right To Rock: 25th Anniversary Edition" exactly 25 years after this classic album first hit the streets. This Gene Simmons produced official reissue will be digitally remastered and will feature a brand new recorded version of the title track, which is even louder and heavier than the original. "The Right To Rock (Reunion Version)" features an all-star vocal chorus, and the band is also inviting fans everywhere to sing on the track: you can download a sample chorus on KEEL's MySpace, add your voice to the mix, send the band an MP3, and these will be mixed in to the actual recording of this timeless classic.

In 1985, KEEL's "The Right To Rock" became the fastest-selling debut in A&M Records' history and the band was proclaimed the "Best New Band" by Metal Edge and Circus magazines. The album's title track was a hit on radio and MTV and remains a staple on VH1 Classic.

At this moment KEEL are putting the finishing touches on their new album, "Streets Of Rock & Roll", for a January 2010 release via Frontiers Records. The project is being produced by Pat Regan (DEEP PURPLE, KISS, WARRANT) and will feature guest appearances by Jaime St. James (BLACK 'N BLUE) and Paul Shortino (ROUGH CUTT, QUIET RIOT), who is also producing and recording Ron's lead vocal sessions.

November 8 : ROBERT FLEISCHMAN (Vinnie Vincent) - interview
From: Rockpages.gr
Rockpages.gr continues their KISS special feature, this week with Robert Fleischman, lead singer on Vinnie Vincent Invasion (1986), the Vinnie Vincent EP Euphoria (1996), and Vinnie's unreleased album Guitarmageddon (1997).

Rockpages.gr: How did you get to work with Vinnie Vincent in the first place? How did you guys meet?

Robert Fleischman: Vinnie called me up one day through a mutual friend that had told him about me. We got together in my home/studio. Vinnie played me some demos he was working on, and we wrote a song together. I think the song was “Do You Wanna Make Love”. We were discussing continuing our work when he received the offer to join Kiss. After he left KISS, he came back to me and we went into a recording studio and did about 4 more songs.
